Winter 2024

As 2024 comes to a close, this update provides details on the progress of the Redmond Wetlands Complex, including the upcoming construction proposal process, agency review, and land use approvals. Thank you to the community for your continued interest in the project.

Construction Update
The city will seek construction proposals in January 2025. This marks the beginning of the formal procurement process to select a contractor. The construction of the project is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2025 and is anticipated to be completed by 2028.

Prior to construction, the city will host an informational meeting to share details about the project, introduce the project team, and answer any questions from the community.

Agency Review
The project is progressing through the agency review and permitting phase, with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land acquisition currently under government review. This process ensures all necessary regulatory requirements are met.

Project Receives Land Use Approval for ADA Trail Network Amenities
On December 2, the project received Deschutes County land use approval to establish a public park. This approval includes the development of an ADA trail network primarily centered around the primary treatment wetland, along with a parking lot, restrooms, a building, a picnic area, and shelter.
