The City of Redmond submitted a land use application to the Deschutes County Planning Department on March 10, 2023.
The 60% design layout reflects the disposal wetlands planned for construction slated to begin in late summer 2023.
On August 30, 41 community members attended an informational open house at the future Wetlands Complex site. During the open house, the City and project consultants shared 30% design elements, site layouts, and answered questions.
The City will begin the final design phase of the Redmond Wetlands Complex after the 30% review. The final design is expected to be completed in the spring of 2023, with construction beginning in the summer of 2023.
Expanding on project data collection, several surveys will continue on both City of Redmond and BLM property. Activities include identifying potential wetlands, any significant archeological features as well as topographic features.
A key priority of the Redmond Wetlands Project is to collaborate with community-based organizations, residents, educators, and businesses, to understand how they envision utilizing the Wetlands Complex.
